Just wanted to "bump" this thread. I was off work on Monday in observance of Veterans' Day and, as such, headed to Crafton to the library since they had a book available that I wanted to borrow. The library, while small, was top-notch. Clean, organized, and comfortable. The staff? Swell! I think Crafton would truly boom if it had a larger and more walkable business district (i.e. can they at least turn the Crafton/Ingram Shopping Center into a lifestyle center sort of like the part of The Waterfront by the theater?!)

You were in Crafton and didn't visit me? 😢 Seriously, Crafton and Ingram have a 10 year comprehensive plan that includes changing the shopping center to more of a downtown-like destination.

Guess I missed the hiss. Glad you liked our library.

Do you know where I can find a copy of that plan? I checked the borough website but I didn't see it.

I noticed it's 3 years old now. Are you happy with the progress?

I don't know much about the plan. I do know about half of the plaza recently got a new facade (which was pretty underwhelming) and new curbs/planters. Not sure how much they can improve the plaza given its location and layout.

It's the same plan. Crafton and Ingram developed it together.

The shopping center facelift was done by the owners. Not related to the plan AFAIK.

If the plan's aurhors had buy in from the owners then they should have followed the plan's guidelines. Hopefully they make bigger more meaningful changes down in the future. It's been interesting to watch the 1998 plan for.East Liberty come together and Homewood has been working on building and implementing their plan for the last few years.

I'd imagine it's harder to move the dial in smaller municipalities bit I have hopes for Crafton-Ingram even if they are doing just fine as it is.
