Trip Advisor is naming the best burger in each state.

They named Burgatory the best in PA?
So does Pittsburgh have the best burgers?

Burgatory isn't even the best in Pittsburgh, IMO - I prefer BRGR.

I like both burgers, but I prefer going to BRGR—the one in East Liberty, anyway. Their burgers are better, possibly because they are more basic. Burgatory offers so many permutations, the essential burgerness gets lost in, say, the Diablo Dust (which I like, actually). Burgatory wins for milkshakes, though (yaay, Caramel Pretzel).

One burger I haven't liked of late is the one they serve at the Whitfield (Ace Hotel). I had to send mine back last week for being medium-well instead of rare-but-not-raw. They didn't get it right the second time, either. Thankfully, my friend who sometimes insists upon eating there was less than pleased with his meal, so we won't be going back anytime soon.

Now I'm in the mood for a BRGR.

I'm old school, give me a cheeseburger from the Squirrel Cage and I'm good.

I like Tessaro's. Also really good, oddly enough, are the burgers from Market District(Giant Eagle) in Waterworks Plaza.

Honorable mention IMO should go to Benjamin's or whatever it's called these days. The candied jalapeno cream cheese burger is possibly the best hamburger I've ever eaten.

Bier's pub, Thanks for the mention. I hadn't heard of it and it's not far from us. Will have to check it out.

I'd also give a mention to the Over the Bar Bicycle Cafe. I've only been to the one in SS but there is also one in North Park. Never had a bad burger and the Dirt Rag is really good that comes with PB which sounds weird. I got it also with Bacon and a fried egg, so good.
