Thank you for the response. We may have to give Collier Twp a closer look. If I’m not mistaken, doesn’t Oakdale fall under Collier as well?

But I believe Sto-Rox SD is only Stowe twp and McKees Rocks, not Kennedy at all. 100% of Kennedy should be in Montour SD, despite residents there often having a McKees Rocks address.

Thanks for the clarification.

We might be moving back to the Pittsburgh area soon and wanted to get the advice of the City-Data community about potential places to live.

We have narrowed our list down to South Fayette Township (specifically McDonald) and Robinson Township (near Settlers Ridge). We prefer to live south of the city and like the idea of the kids attending relatively smaller school districts. Robinson seems to have lower taxes and obviously the shopping/restaurant options are a plus (I’m also partial to Robinson as I grew up nearby), but South Fayette seems to have the superior school district and I love the countryside feel McDonald has to it; it’s a nice change of pace from the city.

Is there anything we need to know about, or perhaps a preference between the two? Would love to hear what the community has to say.

Thanks.
Sure.

If you like basic people, homogeneity, and racism...
you’ll fit into any of the communities you are considering.

Enjoy!

Why are you such a nasty person? You are judging others but you are the one full of hate.

You should try to get out more and meet different people.

As to racism, you’ve proven that is prevalent exactly where you live.

I love McDonald. Has an older Giant Eagle grocery store, nice bicycle shop, little downtown and most importantly, a paved Panhandle rail trail that is 29 miles long. One of my favorite rail trails. Here's a nice property. People there are nice. Good luck.
