Loser criminals committing serious crimes is a reason why traffic stops are important.

I had to look into that and sure enough, people are. What an odd life it must be to totally give up on a civilized society. WOW.

ah, please. live in a black neighborhood and you may have a different perspective. they might get pulled over...for OTHER offenses, and then the lack of a valid inspection is realized. if a black person is nailed just for not having an inspection, its because....HE DOESNT HAVE A VALID INSPECTION.

if someone thinks whites get a pass on that, they are just being cozy in a the false narrative. there are more cops in places where there are likely to have more drivers without inspections.

The voting was postponed to next week. Sure is stupid, but if you live in the city, you don't have to maintain your car for safety and I guess no inspection is required since that would be minor. Just drive and do what you like. Speeding is insane everywhere including city streets. Tough go for cyclists and walkers, but lets just let people drive junk around on top of it. Why not?

It passed. Now we will have unsafe vehicles on our roads on top of all the quads and dirt bikes doing wheelies all over the place. Pittsburgh isn’t a cycle or pedestrian friendly city. So out of over 52000 stops 11 resulted in an officer pulling a taser. Such odd times. How low can the bar go?

This is going to make for great tv.

Wonder how they’re going to make up the lost revenue from writing tickets to violators

Damn, that really stings coming from a guy that supposedly lives in Cranberry.

This probably won't impact cops as much as one would think. Police have a plethora of BS reasons they can still use pull someone over. Putting it bluntly - if they want to pull you over, they will.

What if the entire force just slowed way down and didn't pull anyone over anymore? Could they just become less engaged and collect their paycheck? Sure is a thankless job. Don't know how anyone could do it these days.

Actually, I’m in Florida until the weather breaks or Wolf and the shut it down folks shut it down again, and then I’ll be back in Cranberry.

Hopefully they do have reason to pull people over as many serious crimes come from those stops. Personally, if I were a cop I’d do almost nothing and let the criminals run rampant like so many enable them to do…but I’m also in favor of 100% defunding of police and let social workers and folks handle the crime and fend for themselves.
