Rumors are flying around. We do have some big race guys in our area. I am for it, but am for anything that puts Pittsburgh on the map. What do you think?

The City will lose its ass on the costs.
This is a happy time story about its cancellation. The real reason was it was a financial disaster for all involved:

An interview with the promoter, Andretti Sports:

Hmm, interesting. I guess the promotion of our city through such a venue isn't really worth it I guess. Always looking to get Pittsburgh some press.

I sure miss the Thrift Drug Classic. That was awesome. At least we still have the marathon and the Vintage Grand Prix, which are both great.

I'll just get a dash cam for my daily commute on 28, and we can televise that as our Indy car race

28 is sure a mess. Last night a tree was down and it was just a nightmare. Aspinwall was flooded, roads closed all over the place. Now when 28 is clear, people drive 80+ and yes, it is like a race. I would rate it second to rt 22 in Monroeville however. That is even faster and crazier with the occasional motorcycle doing 70mph while doing a wheelie. Entertaining for sure.

I would like to see cameras clicking the license plates of speeders and mailing the terrorists their tickets.

Interesting how you don’t want traffic stops in the city but want traffic violators punished elsewhere

How would you know what I want in a city where I don`t live and why are you willing to see a police officer gunned down after pulling someone over for a broken tail light?

The logic seems to be a bit skewed here.. if theyre enough of an animal to shoot at a cop because they got stopped for a broken tail light, then isnt it better if the police engage with them over something like a broken tail light instead of waiting to engage with them after theyve victimized someone else by shooting, stabbing, robbing, or raping them???

You’ve already said you don’t want traffic stops in the city, but since you don’t live in the city why do you care?

You’ve also said police don’t write tickets anyway which was also proven false as I believe the number last year was 8000+.

How many officers have been gunned down over a broken taillight, and please be specific?

As we’ve seen, traffic stops often lead to more serious crimes. Yet you don’t want them in the city but it’s okay outside of it
