Yes, the house we are looking at is in the crofton plan. Do you have any input on this neighbourhood?
Crofton is mostly leaning towards upper middle class, at least when I was in high school. The development was initially built in the 1960s on Workhouse property. The Workhouse was a prison In Blawnox that had a huge farm sprawling all along RIDC Park and Crofton propety. The inmates worked the fields and grew their own produce. Fox Chapel High School sits on property of the old Rogers Field. It is an old air field where such people as Amelia Earhardt and Charles Lindbergh landed their aircraft back in the 1920s. In Crofton, you wil find doctors, lawyers, business professionals, and business owners. You will probably find dual income households today and mostly college educated parents.

I know several people who live in the Crofton Street area and they like it a lot. If you are worried about the cost, do some comps on Zillow.com and see what has sold recently. You will be surprised at what some of the homes sold for just last year and those houses are worth less now because of the economy. Don't believe everything your realtor tells you. Do as much research as you can before making an offer. Good luck.
