Going to be moving soon, from Oakmont to Hamar, which is about 10 miles. I am willing to pack but don't want to do the lifting and moving. From your personal experiences, whats the cheapest way to get this done? Any reputable, cheap moving compaines out here in Pittsburgh?

Buy a case or 2 of beer and get your friends to do the lifting!

Go down to Oakmont Truck Rental and talk to the guys down there. Someone will help you move on the side. Don't go in the office at first. Go to the garage doors and see if anyone is around there first. The guys that pump the gas are good ones to talk to about it. That would probably be your cheapest bet.

Thanks, seems like you used them before? If so, how was their service, did they take care of your stuff while moving, were you satisfied with the quality?

find a high school or college kid in the neighborhood and offer him some cash, he can grab a couple friends.

If you start looking around the neighborhood for high schoolers, be sure to speak to the parents as well.

In the litigious society in which we live, I prefer to hire people who are licensed, bonded, and insured.

What are you talking about? You need to study maps a little better.

1. Harmarville
2. Harmar Township
3. Harmar

I have not used them personally. Just know they rent trucks and have some guys down there that might help you for some cash.

Simply curious about the move, what practicality is there moving from Oakmont right across the river to Harmar? They're very close geographically. Is this a tax issue or something?
