Do you guys know any good attorney that can fight for a speeding ticket (received in Pittsburgh area). Also what is an average price for the attorney to fight speeding ticket?

Thanks

I'm sure the cost of any attorney for a speeding ticket greatly exceeds the cost of the ticket itself. Doesn't make much sense to me.

I'd represent myself in traffic court. I guess it's worth hiring an attorney if you already have too many points on your license and you risk suspension.

Most attorneys would charge you anywhere from $400-$750 to fight a speeding ticket.

go in front of the magistrate yourself, in most cases they will reduce the points and slow down!

Agreed. Throughout my life, I've had nothing but good experiences with magistrates regarding traffic tickets.

I was wrongly ticketed on the stretch of road through Hazelwood a few years back. That is a known speed trap area so I always go 24 MPH and on this day people were flashing lights so I KNEW a trap was up ahead. I was pulled over and told I was going 41 MPH, funny, that is 16 miles over the limit which gives the highest amount of fine. I went to court, told the judge my side, she cut the fine in half and took away the points.

One side note, I went there wearing a coat and tie and stood out like a sore thumb. The judge walked into the courtroom and without even looking up said: I remind all you gentlemen this is a court of law so kindly remove your hats.

Excellent point. As an attorney, I am absolutely blown away by how casually people treat court. And I'm not just talking magisterial district court, but arbitration and even the Court of Common Pleas (i.e. "real" court). I have seen people appear for trial (representing themselves, of course) in dirty jeans, hair uncombed, etc. Even if you are so poor that you cannot afford a suit or a dress shirt and tie, you can be clean, neat and presentable. You will get a lot more respect and be taken much more seriously if you present yourself well and take it seriously.

You are preaching to the choir. I was called for jury selection a few years ago and was amazed how poorly everyone was dressed. It's a court of law for crying out loud!!! People wearing sweatpants and a steeler jersey, t-shirts, cut-off jeans, and flip-flops. Again, coat and tie for me. And maybe you can corroborate this, those of us not chosen were dressed properly. Guess the lawyers thought we were too serious to serve.

I am basically facing the same situtation except I have a ticket for a " California roll". Lady cut me off and I didn't completely stop at the stop sign. From what I was told take an online safety class before you goto court for the ticket and don't pay the ticket until you go.
