Forbes new list of the top 20 most miserable cities in America is full of rustbelt towns near Pittsburgh. I feel bad for some of these cities, but they need to get their act together. It's unfair that people think Pittsburgh is no different than Cleveland, Buffalo, or Youngstown.

1) Cleveland
2) Stockton, CA
3) Memphis
4) Detroit
5) Flint, MI
6) Miami
7) St. Louis
8) Buffalo
9) Canton, OH
10) Chicago
11) Modesto, CA
12) Akron, OH
13) Kansas City
14) Rockford, IL
15) Toledo, OH
16) NYC
17) Sacramento, CA
18) Youngstown, OH
19) Gary, IN
20) Filthadelphia, PA

I'm not sure what your point is. I don't think Pittsburgh neighbors need to get their act together, I think people are actually over friendly and go way out of their way to be neighborly.

The point is that their economic troubles have caused people in the rest of the country to associate Pittsburgh with the same problems. People in Phoenix or Denver see Pittsburgh as part of the same dying, rustbelt cities as Detroit, St. Louis, and Gary, Indiana.

Look at all those cities, remember what their industrial base was, and realize that we now get everything form overseas. Yeah, that's why we have a lousy economy.

In reality, you should be posting this on the respective boards of the cities you wish to have cleaned.

Won't do any good to post it on a board where everyone will agree with you.

OK, tree huggers shoot me, but all the towns mentioned that are hurting now were making money hand over fist and people were employed about 25 years ago. I seriously doubt they were worried about the environment.

But I'm sure all the green people will replace factories with river front condos and coffee shops. That way 10's of people will made 8 bucks per hour.

The methodology of that thing is whacked. New York? Chicago?

Did you notice the only thing they said about St Louis in the slideshow is that it's the losingest football team?

They're citing a lot more things than economic misery.

Is there an accompanying article text or anything about how they came about? Or did they just take a bunch of things known about these places and cite a few to come up with a top 20?

Seems like we are lucky they didn't cite Pittsburgh with the rest.

Ohio, apparently, is well and truly f****d. 5 out of 20, or 25% of those places, are in Ohio. We should probably be putting up a fence at the border....

You can quickly see the bias of whoever the author of it is. I mean, NYC & Chicago on the list?
