It happens around the 30 second mark. Seems to me this could have been handled differently. Seattle police have already got a rep of beating on people..mostly minorities of course. This will just add to it..

Seems like the cop wanted to be a hotshot and handle all preps at once. He should have kept his cool and call for backup. I wonder why he didn't use a mace or a taser?
No, Seattle cop punches 17 year old in the face after she assaulted him. If they followed his instructions instead of assaulting him this never would have happened. Instead they turn a routine stop into a major incident.

The title is so misleading. Looks to me like he punched her for interference and assaulting an officer. Yes, he could have handled it differently, he should have used a take down maneuver or tazed her.
What makes people think they can obstruct justice and assault a police officer without consequences?

The cop instigated the incident. What was he doing hassling young blacks for jaywalking anyway?
No way would he have punched a white girl in the face like that.
Seattle takes jaywalking very seriously. They have classes for offenders, and everything.
