I think you're missing my point. There's nothing wrong with being proud of being gay or even being proud of being unusual in your appearance. I'm concerned that by calling it a "gay pride parade" and then allowing anyone to dress and behave however they want - no matter how outrageous - it gives a bad impression to society at large, and whether we like it or not, the public image of gays is something to be concerned about, in my opinion.
Looking at the pictures, it looks more like a "freak pride parade".
I understand what you are saying but I think if people are going to dislike gays they are going to do it for their own bias reasons, not because of a parade they went to go see. I really don't think there are many out there who don't already have opinions on gay people. There may be and those people may be negatively or positively effected by the parade but I honestly don't believe there are many adults out there who don't already have there own opinions formed before they see a parade like this.
Their whole gig is that they want to be treated just like everybody else............yet, (the gays deserve one day an year when an occasion is dedicated to them).
Do you have a problem with black pride month? Blacks want to be treated like everyone else, YET they have their own month to remember them and focus on them in society.
I have no problem with it. This world is very hetrosexualist, and the gays deserve one day an year when an occasion is dedicated to them. Just one day wont take the rights away from anyone else
Gays aren't anyone special they don't need a special day of the year to celebrate their "colorful" lifestyle by wearing barely anything and spray painting their butts with rainbow colors.
I just hope no innocent kids ever see these parades. Parades this vile should not even be displayed in public.

Why do blacks have a month to recognize them then? Are they special?

It's not the parade that will deny others their rights. It's the targeting of political opponents by gays for persecution and organized harassment.
It's intended to intimidate people into not participating in politics by donating money

They want to go have zany fun that is fine, but they should just realize that they are reinforcing tired stereotypes for many bigots on the sidelines and are doing a disservice to their efforts to enjoy full equality in society.
Live a little Huck!!!!! People in conservative evangelical old Dallas, Texas are loving the guys in speedo undies. The Sheriff is cool with it too. I think she rides in their parade. lol.

Well if you are against it, why are you not also voicing your opposition to the Mardi gras parade in New Orleans where people just dress very revealing clothes and people being outrageous?
So if gay pride parades give an bad impression to society, then the mardi grass in New Orelans would also give an bad impression for New Orleans
That hardly true. The bigots on the sidelines will always be disgusted with anal sex and two men sleeping together. That is what most people can't stand. That's fine. Don't attend a gay pride parade if you don't agree with it.
Guys dancing without T-shirts on in little undies or speedos now that is no big deal. We've all seen male underwear catalogs. lol.
