Democrats are in trouble...

'Generation gap' working in GOP favor - latimes.com

Quote:
Now add one more factor: a new generation gap. Voters over the age of 50 are leaning increasingly Republican, according to recent polling —and that includes members of the giant baby boom generation between 50 and 64.

If these boomers want their social security checks, they need to not bite the hand that feeds them.

I've always thought the Boomers were such an overrated generation & I can't wait until they're too old to control the media so we can stop hearing about how awesome they are.

Exactly, lots of grey hair at those Tea Party conventions.
Some of them blindly followed the hippie/liberal trend of the 60's... now they're blindly voting GOP (against their own best wishes) like a bunch of cattle.

Democrats aren't in trouble though.
I have faith that the world is steadily moving in a more sane and balanced direction...
even if it takes a few switchbacks.

As people get older they tend to become more conservative in their thinking.

Not necessary true, I have known elderly people that are accepting of gay marriage. In addition there are those out there that are staunch socialists.

I don't think so. I've noticed younger people in Vermont are increasingly conservative. Probably because they're realizing that because of liberals, they have to leave the state to find much opportunity. And elsewhere the great disappointment obama has been for young voters will smarten up some younger people.

Someday your 'generation' will be thought of in the same way.

If you are a devoted fan of the media then I can understand your frustration.

As a Boomer who now understands the shortcomings of the media and the pitfalls of 'drinking that cup of Kool Aid' I don't care.

Politics will be with us as long as this nation exists. I hope some of us recall that we are individuals --that was the intent originally.

Yeah, the Donks made big strides with the death of grey haired Big Daddy Robert Byrd.
