So, NASA has released sets of data showing that this January to June has been the hottest January to June on record.

I'm expecting the people who offered snowflakes in Podunk, TX as proof against global warming to now make a 360 and say it is now a reality due to this new data.

Right? Right? Bueller?

I thought weather was not climate?

a half year of data?

I assume by "ever" NASA means since they started taking these global readings? like in the last 30 years?

You missed the point of my post.

Just seeing if the people who used snow this past winter as a denial of global warming will "see the light" and now say that it exists because of new statistical data.

For example, Brrrr....more global warming (snow in Yonkers, NY)

And when did you jump the boat?

Welcome to the other boat. A day of snow flakes in Podunk, TX is weather. Six months of data, not quite the same. Try not to ride two boats at the same time. It looks ridiculous, even without the ultimate consequence.

search the forum. I have a "weather is not climate thread that is months old.

Climate is not measured in months but years.

and yet no one is arguing that warming has not/is not occurring.

why however is up for debate.

as well as "have we ever seen it this warm before"

answers to those questions remain severely short of pro-AGW theory

Is it normally the case that temperature doubles from year to year?

Nice try.

Be advised, there is no set standard for a period of weather conditions to be classified as climate. It can vary. The fact remains, however, that weather is of short duration while climate encompasses months, several years or even decades of weather conditions.

Some, if not all, of the naysayers do. I'm sure you've been a part of that discussion. Are you saying that nobody made an argument when cold weather struck when and where it wasn't expected?

Not climate but short term weather. What happens over the next ten years combines with the last 30 would provide a better clue to the changes in climate by comparing this data set with one taken 50 years ago.

I am certainly a naysayer
I am saying that no skeptical scientist is arguing that climate has not warmed over at least the last 30 years, or even over the last 150 years.

As I remember the debates that raged last winter. AGW faithful were arguing that the snow was in fact proof of climate change.

If I've done my math correctly, the 1880 MAM index of -29 combined with this year's MAM number of 74 gives us a rise in temperature of +1.03 deg C.
