I was about to say the same but kept following the blog page and you said it for me.
Kerby The federal gov't doesn't wave a magic wand like Oz. They should absolutely be removing the other laws that amount to being unconstitutional.

Jim-- it's not the gov'ts job to make sure jim and sue have a relationship designed IAW bureaucrats, nor is it their obligation to force you to stay together after getting married. The only reason the gov't has any hand in marriage is for legal liability. Declaring yourselves a composite unit legally means you'll be held liable and enjoy bennies as composite unit. Parental rights are also a straight line track because our system established it as such. Just because you have a benefit doesn't mean others ought to be refused the same. Consider a law like a husband cannot be compelled to testify against his spouse. The same reasoning behind that law absolutely applies to a same sex couple even if the law prevented them from marrying. They should not be refused family plan insurance just because they're gay is another example, because medical bennies have not one thing to do with marriage.
To cry that your rights are being infringed upon while breaking into anothers home is a very cut and dry boundary issue to solve IMO. It's not my job to hold your marriage together. It's yours, and I'll sincerely honor it, but only so long as you honor others. Cherry picking the constitution to suit your own preferences doesn't work.

How could it ? That whole concept is rediculous.
If Bob and Joe or Mary and Diane get married accross the street how is that going to ruin Jim and Sue's marriage ?
It's the 21st century let's move forward and stop the hate and discrimination.
By itself, no. But homosexual "marriage" is a symptom of a society that lives for the moment and has no regard for the future. Look at Europe. That is a society in demograhic decline, unwilling to truly "invest" in the future (to borrow a word dear to the hearts of liberals) by having babies in sufficient numbers to ensure the continuation of the existing civilization. Its birthrates are below replacement numbers and even those numbers reflect the contributions of immigrants (mainly from Islamic countries). So if people have no thought for the future, sure, go ahead, let the homosexuals marry. Society is doomed anyway (at least in the way we have known it).
