Employers are required to pay a higher rate of social security tax than an employee. It's more than a match.
But in the end, isn't that all really just part of "compensation", no matter what words you want to label it?

There's a cost to having worker bees, and that's just part of it.

Geez, this reminds me of all the accounting games. I mean really... there's the money coming, the money going out, and what's left, LOL!

From there, ya, you can develop categories to analyze, but in the end it's always:

Income - Costs = What's left!

"Who pays" is subject to all sorts of interpretations. Sure, the business owner writes checks, but the worker bees pay with their lives and so on... it's a big circle.

One that is generally engineered so that a cute tool called "inflation" insures the rich continue to stay on top, LOL!

It would be far better if they could create actual jobs. Unemployment benefits fall far short but they do help out. It remains to be seen if Pres. Palin's administration can do a better job in job creation, but we'll have to wait until 2013.

The government can only create government jobs.
The government can't create jobs at Walmart or Target or Lowe's.
The government cannot force these companies to create jobs either.

I really wish people would stop wishing the government would "create jobs" because for every government job that's salary, benefits, pension that taxpayers have to foot.

Who pays when 100% of Americans are employed by the government ?

At least you and me understand this! some don't get it, and never will, go figure. Government creating jobs, is of no benefit to us in any way.

Then you should have SAID "income tax" - which isn't technically a "payroll tax" btw.

The government can "create jobs" by making it EASIER for companies to hire.........

I can't believe you asked someone to break with the solemn CD political forum tradition of speaking without having a modicum of knowledge of what you are blabbering about...

You have some nerve. Now, let's get back to the subject of Greek Cheeses. Why, yes, I am an expert. I've been to Olive Garden a few times.

Only not very smart people become the head of Harvard Law Review, being selected over 18 lesser qualified morons. They give the smart people a bird poop scraper, to scrape poop off statues.
