well it seems many do not rememeebr the 70's embargo and what it did tot eh economy with only 15% of opec oil cut.witht eh way people were screamig at 4.00 oil tehy wil be rioting when they can't get any.what it woud do si opwenup drill as it did last tiem but the way careter turned his back i doubt many would invest what they did last time.it certainly would be the end of obama tho.only the stupid thin we wil see alternatives that will be more than a drop in the bucket in less than 50 years and then at every high prices.
Personally, I can't wait when Venezuela and the entire OPEC is going to stop selling oil to us. That way we won't have a choice but to start investing in alternative fuels and we'll finally break free from the grip of all those nasty regimes like Saudi Arabia, with whom we are forced to be "friends".
Yea, we may even have to start off shore drilling again, how else will Obama and Pelosi get around to shove crap in our faces? They don't have solar powered jets yet, do they?

Oh yeah, how it goes again? "Spill, baby spill?"
Maybe the skyrocketing prices on shrimp and other seafood products aren't gonna bother you, but don't get puzzled as to why is gas cost $20/gallon if US decides to drill every drop of oil on its own territory off- and onshore.

Smartphone fail? Or you just forgot the unwritten rule of not using the Internet while drunk?
Anyways, we are much closer to the alternative fuels development today than we were in the 70's. Back then I understand why even a 15% cut would be a catastrophe.

LOL Classic male posturing from Chavez. Did he recover from the last time he shot himself in the head? Go ahead Pal, but don't wonder why your constituents put you on a cross for eviscerating your own economy in a goofy attempt to hurt ours.
This is what kills the UN. This posturing for dominance/ advantage at expense of all others is killing the planet. I'd swear I'm listening to 9yr olds on a playground and it's what's passed for leadership in all recorded history.
