The funny thing about bad CEOs is that they are never out of work. Unlike poor regular workers who get booted out of the workforce for bad judgement or poor performance, the CEOs are often lavishly paid and given millions when they leave a company they have wrecked. And usually they go on to wreck another company. You have CEOs like George Sheehan who wrecked Anderson Consulting, left with millions and then went over to wreck WebVan. Bob Nardilli wrecked Home Depot and is now wrecking Chrysler. And then there is "Mad Mel" Karmazin that completely wrecked CBS (under his "leadership" the network lost its NFL coverage and VHF affiliates in many markets) and now he is wrecking Sirius XM radio.
You see the CEOs are protected because they sit on each others boards. So I hire you to wreck company A and you hire me to wreck company B. And we both work together to screw the employees, customers and stockholders.
So you need not worry about Tony Hayward. He will land a cushy CEO job elsewhere. They always do.

But,..but,.. he's an elitist, isn't he going to "trickle down" all that wealth with tons of new jobs?

Obama will nominate him for a cabinet position. At least that is the Republican dream.

Getting put in charge of TNK-BP is like getting a place in hell. If he thinks the Americans were hard to deal with we are cream puffs compared to Vladimir, Dmitry, Tola, Slawa and Yuri and all the other former members of the USSR.

Yes, there, when Tony says he wants his life back, he will mean it literally!
