Many confuse and use GOD as Church and church as GOD.

The only reason we have marriage is because of religion.

Civil marriage is just a contract.
Marriage has always been a religious ceremony, until Government totally replaces God in our lives.
You make it sound as if government gives you the right to be married. GOD gives you that right and GOD is not to forgiving to the gay lifestyle.
I guess you forget that not everyone believes in a god and to force everyone to believe is not right. Believing in god is not a rule or a law. There is not even any more proof of gods existence than there is of Santa Claus. People were creating unions well before there was any organized religion.

If our government granted no special priveleges to people who are married this would be a moot point.

That is exactly what I said. Government has replaced GOD in our lives.

The reason that there is split party representation for and against the issue is because there are plenty of dems against gay marriage and plenty of republicans for it...but the candidates have to tailor their platform according to local tastes and preferences.

So no surprise you'll find some dem seats occupied by people trying to satisfy constituents who don't care for gay marriage.

It's hard for people to wrap their heads around the fact that in reality, there are no clear boundaries of parties and ideologies about gay marriage. If dems were really behind it (as they always say to drag gay people to their party), how come they haven't passed a damn thing while they've had all the power for the last year and a half?

Maybe your make believe god doesn't tolerate gay marriage, but other people's make believe gods do.

I was just talking to Quazar, god of the equine star people, and he was pretty cool with it. Actually, I didn't talk to him directly. He talked to my friend's cousin's sister's boyfriend's nephew's third grade teacher's roommate who wrote it down very carefully and in great detail...but it's the same thing as getting it straight from the horse god's mouth, right?

Just like Women, Hispanics Blacks and the Impoverished.
Use them until they are not needed, or have them pulled along with that dangling carrot they can never reach.

No. Government has been around longer than God. God never was the one who set the rules and regulations, at least not outside the Garden of Eden.

Can you point me to a time where God was in charge of the things our government currently does?

Reality check: NOT ALL BLACK, HISPANICS, OR ANY OTHER COLORED PEOPLE ARE AS A GROUP ENTIRELY AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE. Words like All and None are poisonous in political discourse and reek of sickening stereotypes, if not outright bigotry.

Correct, human nature is for man to make a union and breed with as many women as possible. Religions brought you the marriage ceremony as a way to civilization and selective breeding control.
