The US and Israel also cooperate on the sale of arms and aircraft. On Sunday, Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced the formal approval for purchasing the American F-35 Stealth fighter plane, saying that the having the F-35 plane in Israel "will give the Air Force the best capability in the short and long range and allow Israel to maintain aerial superiority.”
Also this year, Obama asked Congress to allocate $205 million to accelerate development of the Iron Dome anti-rocket system. At the same, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee said last week that he is holding up previously authorized military aid to Lebanon, out of concerns that the $100 million in military aid for the Lebanese Armed Forces will be used by Hizbullah terrorist forces. All in all, said the Wall Street Journal, US military aid to Israel reached a high of $2.78 billion in 2010, up from $2.55 billion in 2009, and is slated to jump to $3 billion in 2011.
Interesting, so our food stamp program for Israel increased by 10% since last year. Cost of living increase?
Summers73 2nd law: the IQ of a RINO is directly proportionate to the length of time it takes for said RINO to play the anti-Semite race card in a forum about foreign policy ala Israel (assuming the word Jew is not used by those critical of Israel, which negates the law).
Summers73, I do not know if you realize this but, everytime money is given to a country it goes right back to the US. All money comes with the condition to buy American products or services.
I don't agree with this, I don't like it but that is exactly how this works.
Food stamps? If all aid to Israel is military aid, then where does food stamps come into play?
What's the difference what you call the welfare program? Welfare is welfare. The RINOs and "moderates" consider it an investment towards Israel's survival, just like food stamps would be towards a family. Same darn thing.

Well, it's the same government that is trying to force people to buy a private product, so I'm not surprised it does "business" this way.
Even if they do not have the funds to purchase these airplanes we do not have to give the war mongering zionists any more money. Let them build their own fighters.
just because israel is good at fighting wars does not mean they are looking for wars to fight. in fact if the countries that surround israel would leave israel alone, the israelis would not attack them. as for letting israel build their own fighters, not every country has the means to build aircraft, and thus they buy the aircraft they need from countries that do build the planes.

Our foreign policy has remained relatively the same for over 50 years. Domestic policy changes with elections. Here you have a pendulum. Or we used to, now we swing far right to right.

Coincidentally, the "war on poverty" has been in service for about that long. LBJ styled progressive food stamps to Israel as well as here.

If you want to call military aid food stamps, then knock yourself out.
