I'm fully aware of the situation and you are upset that your point is still pathetic!
She is a hostess. The hijab does not impair her ability to greet people or function in her job.
Yes, except she is a hostess and she likes that job. She shouldn't be forced to take another job because she wants to wear a hijab.
Because the policy was wrong and she was standing up for her civil rights. African Americans also violated the law during the civil rights movement during protests.
Yeah and guess what it doesn't matter. She could have worn the hijab for 5 years and if she decided she wanted to wear it one morning due to some religious reckoning, she should have that right. Evangelicals change overnight, she can too.
Furthermore, hear reasoning is salient. She wasn't aware of her right to wear it until she was studying for her citizenship exam and realized she did have the right to wear it.
Except she didn't know they would violate her civil rights and not allow her to wear her hijab which is her religious right.
They didn't work with her when she showed up to work wearing the hijab to celebrate Ramadan. They sent her home. Where was the concern and understanding then. Oh that's right, it only came later when Disney realized they had a public relations nightmare that would cost them millions as appearing to be a place of intolerance. You do realize they probably have a million plus visitors who are Islamic.
Nice try except even Private companies cannot discriminate on a candidate's religion among other protected rights.

And if "accomodating" means they would demote, change or not allow her to do the job she had been doing, that is not legal according to the courts. It would be one thing if the hijab would prevent her from performing her job. For example, if she appeared at work with the hijab wrapped around her eyes and she bumped into objects and caused plates to spill then Disney would have grounds to claim she couldn't wear the hijab in this manner.
Yeah, they were accomodating her by telling her she could wear it as long as she wasn't visible to the public, talk about insulting or demeaning. Then they tried to make the hijab a part of her costume which essentially was distorted to the point that it was silly. Instead she did the right thing and held strong.
You mean as a hostess? It was preventing her from greeting and seating people. Oh no it wasn't!
Right and I'm sure the audience wouldn't get that if they saw her hijab.
And they violated her civil rights and freedom of religious expression
Except the Supreme Court will recognize
(1) Her hijab is not a safety hazard to others
(2) Her hijab does not impair her ability to perform her job
(3) Her hijab does not impair the audience's understanding of the Gold Rush ambience
Except she was the person who came forward and said no. She is the one who opposed Disney's policy. If she is the person taking the initiative, how is she the puppet! She is a courageous woman who is fighting for her civil rights. And likewise, there are Right Wing extremists who oppose people who don't assimilate. This will go to the Supreme Court and she will win and then you will complain about conspiracies about how our government is becoming communist or socialist or any other weak agenda that opposes your narrow view.
BTW, I'm a conservative and a Republican. I would feel the same way if a Christian wore a cross. I would feel the same way if a Jewish man wore a yarmulka. This isn't about a Muslim wearing a hijab. It's about protecting one's civil rights. This woman is standing up for American principles and like all brave men and women before her, she will be met with opposition yet only remembered as a hero when she prevails.
