NEW YORK — Republican candidate for governor Carl Paladino said he would transform some New York prisons into dormitories for welfare recipients, where they could work in state-sponsored jobs, get employment training and take lessons in "personal hygiene."

Paladino, a wealthy Buffalo real estate developer popular with many tea party activists, isn't saying the state should jail poor people: The program would be voluntary.

I've debated the same thing before. If someone wants to live on the governments dime, fine, but we'll put you in government housing, with government electricity for x hours of the day, with free OTA TV, and feed you, but you'll work for 10 hours a day on anything we tell you to thats safe.

Or, you can get your own job, you decide.

Well, that figures, doesn't it? In a state on the verge of budgetary collapse, here comes a candidate for office suggesting what amounts to the creation of a completely new level of bureaucracy, to manage 'hygiene classes.' I'm grateful for this information, because it narrows the field of candidates I'll consider voting for.

We don't even have to get started on the portion of his plan so masterfully downplayed: the question of what happens to the prisoners who aren't a part of his 'dormitory system.' Are they supposed to be released out into the general population...or does he advocate setting up a second tier of prisons for people who aren't on welfare but have committed crimes? (More money to spend when there isn't any. Apparently, Republicans are even better at financial legerdemain than we suspected!)

You'd let one outside-of-the-box idea define who you'll vote for? That's very interesting.

Well, gee, what a great history on this guy... no wonder he doesn't want to quit his school board job. Great role model for the kiddies, eh? Betcha he ends up with a major role in trump's government.

Paladino: House Welfare Recipients In Prisons! (VIDEO)

This is a friend of Trump, who mistakenly sent a media outlet an email wishing Mad Cow Disease on Obama and for Michele to be returned to a man and deported to Africa.

He has a history of this sort of thing. I hope he steps down quietly from the Buffalo School Board.

NY Gubernatorial Candidate Carl Paladino

These emails run the gamut from your standard email chain smut to greatly disturbing racist imagery. Many of the latter type of emails targeted President Obama and his wife Michelle.

Here’s a brief rundown of some the emails obtained by the news outlet...

- Ahead of Obama’s swearing-in ceremony, Paladino sent around a video entitled “Obama Inauguration Rehearsal.” The video shows an African tribesman dancing, and is apparently popular among white supremacists.

- An email with the subject line “Proof the Irish discovered Africa” containing a video of monkeys that appear to be doing a Riverdance-style ***.

- A video of a naked woman sent from a government email account.

- A bestiality video involving a horse and a woman.
