Common Courtesy is not intuitive to native Long Islanders.

Neither is following the law. I'm sure that these proposed regs will be obeyed as much as the cell phone while driving laws are.

They have. The number of blabberers has declined in the past couple of years on the LIRR.

No people complain about texting while driving. Texting while sitting in a LIRR car, in a restaurant, movie, in line in a bank, etc should not present a problem or cause complaints.

you haven't been allowed to talk on a phone and drive for quite some time. where else would you like to extend this to? Seems like if you start taking it further, you'd logically have to ban ALL talking (phone or no phone) in those places...

Sure:
*In restaurants
*On public transportation
*Dr/Dentist's Office
*While on line at 711
*At movies
*At theater
*At gas stations (could be very explosive)
*On a cruise
*Within 20 feet of other people who have zero interest in your conversation

Question: Why do people have to talk loud when talking on a cell phone?

I say we regulate and deport the elitist scum that are constantly looking to strip away people's individual rights because something someone else does bothers them. How 'bout you mind your own damn business and stop treading on people's rights.

Don't you people having anything else to complain about. Really, what is the difference between someone talking on the phone or two people having a loud converstation on the train. Are you going to ask for a train car where converstations aren't allowed either and everyone must sit there mute just to please the few intolerant long islanders? What country do you think you live in? What i'd say to you is buy some ear plugs or better yet get some friends so you too can be on the phone.
