I am truly confused about what point it is that you are trying to make.

Should the poor in America shut up and be grateful that they don't live in the same conditions as some kid in Cite Soleil or the flavelas of Rio? Perhaps a good old fashioned outbreak of cholera or typhus would make them ever so more grateful.

Of course on the other hand, I don't see a lot of working poor folks rushing to join the ranks of welfare recipients because of all those cool bennies that they are alleged to get.

Let me get this straight, making $8,000 a year is not really poor in America, and you go so far as to use the word affluent. Yet someone making 31 times that amount isn't really well off.

More contradictions from the right.

Proof to back up your claims? I think not

You should have picked a higher number for greater effect, like say $89,000. That would enrage people more. 30k aint all that.

Not at all. Plenty of poor folk do in tough in the USA. The poor as a rule have far greater protections and treatment in Western Europe..if you compare with Sri Lanka okay.

I'd imagine that isn't very productive. These agencies are self preserving and will always try and grow, arresting the people keeping you employed isn't exactly going to be priority number 1.

Its the taxpayers money being collected by theses people, not their own earned income. Rather than find a job its more profitable for them to keep having kids and collect the $800 or so per month per kid.

Tons of things they can do.
Bad idea because they will be taking jobs from the private sector, we have enough government employees which is basically what they would be. We don't need anymore.

Saracasm? Excessive arrests would be how a police force could show the need for more police just as having many people on welfare would show the need for an expanded agency.
