No what you are describing is the ebb and flow of government spending.

It goes on here. It goes on there. Governments respond to yearly budget constraints and budget surpluses. Recessions come, recessions go.

The fact of the matter is their social safety nets are secure.

The European Union is at 9.7 and the US is at 9.6 based on the link you used as proof. I guess numbers don't matter anymore right, it's all about feeling right?

To tell the truth they are looking forward to it. They have become about as rich as it is possible to become on this planet and it's resources and to further distinguish themselves in wealth they now have to decrease the wealth of the rest of us.... ... already in progress.
