I thought all those programs were paid for and in no need of repair? In fact some groups seem to think we need more of those types of programs... Are you saying we need to reform those programs because they're bankrupting the nation?

There is a picture on another thread from the Glenn Beck rally in August. Many of the people, perhaps a majority appear to be over 65. Age is a little easier to figure out than whether someone is in the country illegally.

They may not get it directly, but almost all of them are from groups that are costing the taxpayers something...And some much more than the common services from which the average taxpaying worker benefits.

So, the difference between the people of this rally and that of several weeks ago really has to do with who pays taxes and who benefits from them.

Certainly government workers pay taxes also...But, they are net beneficiaries of taxes.

Aside from that - Any rally that would have the likes of Al "Mo Money" Sharpton, and Jesse "Mooch" Jackson, does not have any credibility.

Was Twana Brawley there (or whatever her name is)?...Did they take the opportunity to apologize to the Duke students?..Or maybe they just took the opportunity to hold lectures about playing the race/ethnic/sexual orientation card, for gain and profit?

Did they finally find those videos, or real witnesses to support the accusations of the Congessional Black Caucaus members that claimed they were spit at and called racist names by Tea Party people?...This rally would have been a good opportunity to present that proof.

Did Charlie Rangel try charging admission?...The old mutt could make a buck from anything...Maybe he had the parking concessions?

Was the great leader herself there...Nancy Psychosi?...(I'm not sure if she actually goes out in the daylight).

I'm sure it was a successful day all around...Because somehow I suspect a few taxpayer dollars ended up being spent to make this thing work (directly or indirectly). ..After all, that's what these people are all about, isn't it?
I love you man.

I'm thinking that televised (set-up) wait list gathering for Atlanta area public housing applications a couple months ago had more people gathered than the failed event on the Capitol Mall today.

The obvious difference is that the Beck ralliers are a bunch of unemployed crazies who do nothing but drive around the country in their Winnebagos and complain about anyone who isn't "like" them.

Only if one follows the Communist mantra that all money earned belongs to the government rather than those who produce the wealth. Everyone should get to keep as much of what they earn and the government should do with less.

Yeah, I don't get this allegation. The last thread was witching about how this was nothing but a bunch of union workers, who we all know make $150,000 a year without having to really work, right? So if these are all over-paid union workers, wouldn't those be the ones paying the higher taxes?

Are you self-employed? Of npt you may find on your pay stub that you had money withheld for both your examples. If you are on SS you have more withheld that most people who make under say $50,000, at least I do. The only reason that SS is in the hole is that the Democrat controlled Congress in the early 50s started spending what they called the SS surplus and none has gone into the fund since that time.
