Former Republican voter until the days of Ronnie Reagan. You'd have to shoot me now - I will never vote for another Republican as long I live.

I am unemployed.
Tell me again WHY in the world I would vote republican?

Just read some of the many posts on CD from republicans. According to them, I and the rest of the unemployed are "lazy, good for nothing, shiftless bums just trying to "get over" & scam the system.

They act like they care but, in reality they care about no-one except themselves & their own interests. They are the party of "I got me mine" so the heck with the rest of you.

I'm unemployed by choice so I might be in a more rarified category. For me, sanity was more important than income. I have already voted and I placed all my bets on Democrats and independents.

I'm afraid the Republicans will win control of at least one of the houses of government in the upcoming election and within six months, those angry people that elected them will regret that decision. Eight years of unchecked horror followed by two difficult years trying to repair the damage will be followed by at least two more years of amplified pain inflicted by rabidly divisive, corporate-owned, and IQ-challenged men and women with an agenda that they think is American but is, in fact, exactly the opposite.

But another part of me says this is by design. I don't even trust our election process. Hell, I don't trust anything anymore. We ARE being destroyed.

Generally voting against incumbents of either party. But will definitely vote against a candidate who voted against extension of benefits or for tax incentives to move jobs out of the U.S.
