The Republicans who control the Arizona Legislature refused to extend unemployment benefits to thousands of needy Arizona residents Monday, a move that would have cost the state nothing and brought to Arizona millions in federal funds.

At least legislators get paid

Some of these people are using unemployment as a "job." it's been well documented that millions of those on the dole would rather suckle at the teet of the government than look for a job. Why do you want people to be dependent on the government rather than be self sufficient?

That sounds pretty damn specious. After all, if they're drawing unemployment, it stands to reason that they USED to have a job....and therefore they're predisposed towards working if they can find a job.

Besides, Arizona unemployment is a joke. They don't pay enough for someone to be "dependant on government."

The feds get these funds from the money tree on capital lawn?

The funny thing is if they took the funds you would be calling them hypocrites.

Hmm where did people get it in their head that the government should pay them to sit home with money taken from those who work?

Good to see the legislature in Arizona doing absolutely nothing to manage one of the nation's highest unemployment rates.
