Again, if you find yourself unemployed, you'll run to the unemployment office for your bennies just like everyone else. Any statement to the contrary is B.S.
Wanna bet?

Anyone who has taken federal dollars knows that the cost to them is never nothing. There are always strings attached.

IMO, you don't know the difference between "promote" the general welfare and "paying" for the general welfare.

I also don't think the US gov't should be paying ANY unemployment money. It is a states responsibility.

And don't say: End war. End corporate welfare. And the typical liberal mantra's. You have the most liberal/socialist president in history in office and, until recently, a democratically controlled Congress and NONE of that has ended. Its increased.

So, on a realistic scale and realistically speaking, where is this money going to come from? Simple answer: MY TAX DOLLAR.

Yes, ofcourse liberals pay taxes. Liberals want every social "net" program, under the sun and then some. However, they want someone else to pay for them. Ever see thread after thread of: Pay for this, pay for that, by raising taxes on the rich?

If YOU Mr/Mrs Liberal want all these programs, YOU PAY FOR THEM. Don't force me too. I don't want them, nor do I need them. And save the: You might need them someday. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. HOWEVER, I'll deal with myself and my family.

I DO NOT expect YOU to pay more out of YOUR paycheck, so I can live. Its MY responsibility. Not yours. You know, that sticky thing of personal responsibility liberals cannot and refuse to take part in.
One of the other problems is the fed LOANED the states money for UI. Now the fed wants it's money back. The premiums business are have been paying have been increased, and are going through the roof, to pay back the fund.

It's no wonder business won't hire, they can't afford UI.

In AZ there is no specified deduction that is taken directly from an employee's paycheck for the purpose of unemployment benefits. I know when I've lived in other states, I had to pay into the unemployment fund through a deduction that was taken from my gross paycheck.....just like FICA. The percentage taken as well as the maximum amount that an individual had to pay into it annually was much less though.....between 1-2% with a maximum of less than a few hundred annually (at least that's what it was in NJ back in the mid 80's).

Look at the voter turnout in low income areas where a lot of people on welfare live. It's usually VERY low.

apparently he is sitting there saying "I am too good to work at something else"...his job went away because of liberal high tax policies.

I am 51 (not far behind him)(and plan on retiring at 55/56) and have NEVER been unemployeed for more than 6 weeks...I will find away, WITHOUT the government giving me a handout...I will clean toilets before I will take a government handout
That was pretty cold. How was he supposed to live?

Apparently not.

Not too mention, there are MILLIONS of people who had a job for 6 months, a year. They didn't pay into the system ANYWHERE NEAR what they are getting out of it (the same as Social Security).

So save it. You can slice it, dice it, chop it, and spin doctor it anyway you want. And, I notice you didn't answer the overriding question: Where is the money going to come from? If you want to extend "unemployment benefits" to these poor unfortunate people, who can't find a job in almost two years, YOU PAY FOR IT. Don't force me too.
I'm not sure how long you have to work somewhere to qualify for UI, but I believe it's longer than 6 months. To qualify for SS, you have to have paid in for TEN YEARS!

That's pretty cold.

Ditto

May those of you who consider yourselves above unemployment compensation NEVER experience losing your jobs. You may break your necks falling off your high horses.
