Cracks me up how people want to compare the present day fundamentalism of wacko Christianity to the present day fundamentalism of wacko Islam. Wacko Islam is beyond any insanity that Christianity will offer (unless you want to go back in history). To compare the two is just foolish.

Is it? I'll say it again...research the teachings of R.J. Rushdoony.

Yes, I know about him, but his wacko ideas were just that - ideas. He didn't preach beheadings, stonings, lashes, or militancy. Again, no comparison to wacko Islam that does espouse such barbarity.
Iran isn't banning 12 social sciences, and it doesn't say that ANYWHERE in your link. Iran is restricting what is taught in its schools to limit Western influence which it sees as undermining the religious foundations that also form the government. ANY theocracy is going to try to limit access to thought and philosophies that undermine that theocracy.
So has anyone actually addressed the issue of whether or not they support Iran moving forward in a progressive manner, embracing more advanced technology, education, and development? Are we happy they wish to regress on technological issues?
Or is this thread just a bash Muslim Monday thread?

The issue isn't whether we support a move forward in a progressive manner. Unless you are part of the Iranian Revolutionary Regime, then it is safe to say that we all support that. The issue here is their philosophical mindset/construct that is prohibitive to that forward motion.

Excellent post. Most Muslims are not bashworthy. But Islam as a whole is...and is drastically in need of a reformation, and do believe there are Muslims attempting to start down this long but productive, and hopefully, PROGRESSIVE road.
