And yet it's the right wing that fought for civil rights and the left that fought against it. Hmmm...
Emancipation Revelation Revolution Documentary | The Battle Over Civil Rights

'Gods, guns, and abortion' has been an effective catch phrase meme used to manipulate the ignorant left, but has never been that big of a deal to the right. The key to understanding the right is to focus on the virtue of FISCAL conservativeness. Note how the Tea Party feels no qualms whatsoever about ousting Rs who are not fiscal conservatives.

I'm well aware there are problems on both sides. I see that admitted by those on the right here on C-D, and publicly by the Tea Party, as well. What we DON'T see are the lefties admitting that Dems are equally to blame.

I heartily disagree. The nation didn't just suddenly sway from 'punish with a baby' Obama to R candidates because they 'suddenly' became concerned about God, guns, and abortion. This last election was most certainly about JOBS and THE ECONOMY. To think otherwise is disingenuous, to say the least.

Masters, maybe... but those who put them in power are the voters. The voters have now spoken, and they HIGHLY disapprove of the last 4 years (note the 60+ seat loss in the House).

I'm not lathered up, merely pointing out to those on the left that they need to look into the mirror, too, when casting blame.

The CD forums as you well know are populated with a lot of folks who have bought into their own political reality regardless of whether or not that reality can actually stand up to the scrutiny of scholarly review. The sad truth of these convoluted notions that pass for voter knowledge is that the voters are not really informed to the degree they should be. when queried most Americans readily admit to the fact that they seldom if ever bother to read entire books on the subject of such laborious things like monetary theory or politics in general for that matter.

An example of this would be the twisted mind that on the one hand denigrates the government and all of it's activities as some kind of innate evil but also expects the government to turn things around (intervene) on the economic front, their public outcry is all about less government but when they're down for the count who are they calling for help? Not Wall Street, they know better. They also will tell you that we need more private enterprise taking over the activities of government, but they also know they have very little if any control over business, and whatever control is put on business from government they are set against. The reason for this type of contrariness can be laid at the feet of TV and Radio political frontmen who shout daily diatribes to the political uninitiated in order that they will be moved to vote as they are told. Monetary systems are complex, their structure serves to delude the voter and hide the true source of power (hint, it aint us) from the ignorant.

God, guns, and abortion were the main dish being served up by Republican conservatives when things were going great in the economy, when things looked bad in that regard the conservative political focus did suddenly shift to the economic front, but conservatism in the US today (unfortunately) has already adopted the mantra of pious morality, the fact that they are now in financial dire straits has just added fuel to the already burning anger of voters. They voted to remove one set of thieves for another. Most of those tossed out simply weren't conservative enough on all fronts for the Tea Party types.

As far as the "lefties" statement is concerned I'd have to be honest and say that it's been awhile since I've actually spoke with anyone who thinks along the lines of the old IWW or it's successors; the remnants of the true American left. most of the Dems I've met that hold on to the old myth of the Democratic party being a friend of labor just haven't wanted to admit the obvious truth that reveals the abandonment of working people (Bush/Clinton on NAFTA) by both parties. The theory of US leftist politics doesn't come from the voice of European malcontents, it's a composite of simple observation of who has all the marbles and a moral conviction that those who actually produce something are worthy of a reasonable share of the spoils. Doesn't really sound like the agenda of Democrats, or Republicans.

Most people in America don't know the difference between national/state socialism and it's opposite, democratic socialism, they will tell you with a straight face that the likes of Obama is to be feared as a 'socialist' but they will not face the truth that socialistic governments are seldom seen handing over the national treasury to the biggest of capital interests like those banks and insurance companies (their masters) he and Bush were so eager to bail out. Here's a lefty pointing out the obvious truth of party politics.

For the voters to be really clued in they would have to be told of the absolute corruption of the familiar construct of business/government that has ruled us uninterrupted for a very long time. This revelation of course would make voters feel hopeless and more angry so the myth prevails that the various pols are here to save us. To think that the Democratic party or the Republican party and even the fast forming malcontent parties will ever triumph over the capital class and form a true party of the majority is wishful thinking, but I do realize that people need something to believe in and I guess the politics of polarity will suffice for now. It's good to hear that you're not lathered up, the dynamic of US politics has little to do with the likes of us.

Where did C.C. say anything about Obama throwing in the abortion word? Did Obama make the statement he is credited with about those people in that certain part of Pennsylvania about their guns and religion? How many times do we have to hear that one over and over?
