My question is, why didn't you have insurance before you got colon cancer?
Another question might be, why didn't that 29 year old have Ins before the car accident that put him into a comma for 6 months? That's about $3-4 million that you paid for.

Repealing health "care" would would be a top priority to me. And millions of other Americans.
And if repubs do try and overturn it. Democrats are certain to block it. And will will be speaking the truth when they say democrats are obstructing it.
Then in 2012, enough candidates, including the president, will be elcted to overturn it. And it will be overthrown.
And there are no best parts of that bill. It is a complete disaster.
By the way, overturning the health "care" law will benefit corporations. It will benefit everyone. Including the poor.
To me the economy is the top priority, and it was to "R"s too during the campaing. Now that they have won, they declared other top priorities, like winning the next elections. In other words political power is their top priority.
The cost of HC has been doubling before the new bill, so something had to be done. The "R"s had 12 years to do something, and they did absolutely nothing.
This past Tuesday, the citizens of the State of Arizona passed (by a wide margin) a referendum that states we, in Arizona, do NOT have to accept any Federal Healthcare bill. We can make our own decisions about OUR healthcare.
I would get the government completely out of it. Since govt intervention is what makes it expensive in the first place.
Unfortuantely, that won't happen. Republicans have proposed in the past Health Savings Accounts, allowing insurance companies to do business in any state, reforming liability laws and many more ideas.
I honestly think that you should have the right to opt out of Medicare. You won't have the taxes taken out of your paycheck from the day you opt out and you will never be eligible for coverage under Medicare again.
Lets pass a bill that allows that and see how many people take advantage of a health insurance system without the government.
I think it will be fun comparing the bankruptcy rates between people covered by Medicare, and people who think their HSA's will hold up against their medical costs.
This is going to be an interesting battle, but IMO healthcare is not going to be repealed. Too many corporations look forward to getting out of the healthcare business and will put enormous pressure on the GOP to fix healthcare, not repeal it.

Rrright. And the rest of the citizens pay dearly when your insurance either caps out or won't pay for the complications that come with disease. Good plan.

Put your life where your mouth is, so to speak.
Pie in the sky dreaming and nothing else.
Given the realities of the political system (not what we might like them to be), what do you think is the likelihood of something like that being passed by the Republican House, the Democratic Senate AND being signed by the President?
Heck, what do you think is the likelihood that it would be passed by EITHER party if they had total control? (Before you answer, consider that the Dems had total control for 2 years and the GOP for 6, yet it never came up.)
How about let's all quit dreaming and focus on what's practical and achievable?

If y'all decide on pretty generous benefits, folks will flock to Arizona for their health care. I doubt you'll want to pay for that.
If y'all decide on serious restrictions on health care, your own citizens will go somewhere else to spend their health care dollars. I doubt you'll like that either, especially when your favorite hospital closes in bankruptcy and your favorite doctors trundles off to Utah or wherever.
