Blacks struggle with 72 percent unwed mothers rate Ap National Writer – Sat Nov 6, 3:25 pm ET
HOUSTON – One recent day at Dr. Natalie Carroll's OB-GYN practice, located inside a low-income apartment complex tucked between a gas station and a freeway, 12 pregnant black women come for consultations. Some bring their children or their mothers. Only one brings a husband.
Seventy-two percent of black babies are born to unmarried mothers today, according to government statistics. This number is inseparable from the work of Carroll, an obstetrician who has dedicated her 40-year career to helping black women.
since it takes 2 to make a baby then both get the blame; i see plenty of sorry azz dudes around the hood that i know i dont want my sisters to even look at. If you dont want to get married or see a man or woman you dont find desirable to marry then cool. But both need to wrap it up or pop a pill. Hell some need to swallow. The more men and women keep blaming the opposite sex for problems the more kids will be born and raised in a one parent house. This blame game gets so old and only the kids are suffering.
Could this be from the liberal thought process towards sex
Explain the race component of this. I don't think it's sexual.
It's easy to get pregnant and pop out kids and when that's what you are used to seeing that's what you will do. Especially when you have nothing else going for you.
Any possible connections? Do unemployed and under employed males make the best marriage partners? What would the white out-of-wedlock numbers be if white males had these unemployment numbers?
Sex and childbirth are the easiest things to do, no education or experience required. It's what people will do when there is nothing else to do. I'm telling you. And yes, government assistance is part of the problem. But the alternative is to allow people to completely fall off the radar and many will die. And even that won't stop it from happening.
I don't know what to do about it but we shouldn't keep throwing money at the problem, there needs to be a severe limit on that.
