“President Obama supports responsible, accountable, and open government at home and around the world, but this reckless and dangerous action runs counter to that goal,” the statement said. “By releasing stolen and classified documents, WikiLeaks has put at risk not only the cause of human rights but also the lives and work of these individuals.”

I love how right wingers are always going on about limited government, and transparency in government, yet when some organization legally exposes all the law breaking, and lying, and spin put out by government they are the first to call for severe punishment of the whistleblowers. ( I suppose they want to create some new Federal laws and powers to persecute them because what they are doing now is perfectly legal)

What these people are is fake libertarians. They get all teary eyed about the Constitution when the Democrats are in control. Yet here their real motivations come out.

1) You must obey the State.

2) Free speech only goes so far as the State allows.

3) Claiming "Security" or the "War on Terror" trumps all other civil liberties.

4) We must believe every claim the State makes about the need for "security" and "secrecy".

These are typical Authoritarians.....LOL ......every tin pot 3rd World dictatorship has them.....In the USA they are known as the " Conservatives" or the "Right Wing".

Bascailly in nay administration there needs to be certain communictions that need to be keep secret. That has always been the case .Every country has enemies and always has. What has changed is the people willing to steal and publkish the information for their own benefit and reasons.

LOL That's funny.

You're unable to address the topic of your own thread so you've gone on to Obama's hatred for the USA

Why don't you just keep the topics more general instead of pretending you care about civil liberties?

I suggest title's such as.....Obama the America Hater....or...Do you hate Obama? Tell us about it here!

The Obama administration has told whistleblower WikiLeaks that its expected release of classified State Department material is illegal and will put "countless" lives at risk.

That's a very vague statement. What is exactly illegal?

Leaking classified documents to wikileaks?....Yes that's illegal for the "leaker" to do that.

Publishing leaked classified documents? No ...that's legal.

This is not the first time wikileaks has done this. Is there an arrest warrant for Julian Assauge?

No. There is no basis to charge him.
