These Democrats want everyone but the highest earners to recieve a tax break. Unless, you are one of those high earners..you have nothing to complain about.

Ok Mr Oberman....show us how smart you are.....

The Bill is not satisfactory to either party, but is a compromise...meaning both sides of the argument get part of what they want. You would rather have it one sided, ...ot going to happen, and it means the Dems are not willing to compromise. Sour grapes... about to loose the House because they did not listen to the people....

You are forgetting the citizens all this. Do democrats not work for the citizens of this country? Do they not feel people should be able to keep more of the money they earned? Never mind we know the answer and that is NO. Democrats dont care about the citizens to this its a war against republicans. To them our money is their money to spend however they see fit.

Which is part of the reason they got spanked in Nov

Looking out for yourself, fine...whatever. I can't blame you. What about those that will lose their unemployment benefits, not to mention those losing their middle class tax breaks, if the Republicans, representing high earners like you, don't get their way? Don't they matter?

I voted Democrat because

10. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15%
isn't.

9. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

8. I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

7. I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

6. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

5. I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies through abortion so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

4. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits and we should pay for it with what
we earn and give to the government through our taxes.

3. I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the democrats see fit.

2. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

1. I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my a** that it is unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view.

The New Democrat strategy.. it even has a code name...

It's the.... Socialist Hierarchical Ideology Transforming Freedom and Obligating Redistribution By Redirecting America Into Nationalist Socialism

(S.H.I.T.F.O.R.B.R.A.I.N.S.) strategy.

The tax breaks are to expire as written by the republicans and bush at the end of the year. The reason behind them was to boost the economy and create jobs. This classic "trickle down economics" was an epic failure as was it under Reagan and bush 1. There is absolutely no reason to extent proven failed tax breaks at the tune of 900 billion dollars. The right could give a damn about the people, and proved this when the democrats made the biggest reach I've ever seen with extending the tax rates to everyone making under a million, the fascists rejected it.
Also look at any current poll, most of the people want to tax breaks to end completely rather than taking the loan shark offer the right are proposing.
Following bush's bill and letting the tax rates return to the wildly successful Clinton plan may sting at first, but in the end will get the economy going. More spending right now is the absolute worst thing to do, and the democrats are fighting to stop it.
