just about all the anti Obama callers where...surprise, surprise, white men with Southern Drawls...
say I'm a troll, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this on political talk radio (that is heard in all 48 states, not just 1 town).
All of these types of shows have "screeners". They are directed before the show what type caller will be allowed thru to be heard. Doesn't matter if it is a conservative or progressive type show. It's how their "business" is done. No surprise on any of these types of shows that callers all sound very much the same on all sides of the political divides.
I noticed that recently (TV) while watching Fox News and remember because I thought it was unusual that such a high percentage of callers had Southern accents. When I watch C-Span the greater majority of callers lack southern drawls. I never thought about it being anti-Obama because so many people on this site love him. And it was likely 60/40 of the callers on Fox were pro or con, mostly con. That's how the nation is in the polls we see. It's like Obama has a broken Magic 8-Ball or cracked Quija Board.
Reading the OP I didn't think it was to bash southerners. It seemed more worthy for discussion of what's suddenly going on now?

The argument against democracy favoring republic is that people are too stupid to know what is best for them, and so, requires an elite class of individuals to act in their best interest. Sometimes that has truth to it. Sometimes it makes perfect sense to not go through to motions of becoming a world renowned brain surgeon because you yourself have a brain tumor. We do lean on experts, but how hard? We do lean on experts, but how far removed have they been permitted to become from accountability (the very basis of sound business practice & rule of law)?
People who haven't the wherewithal to educate themselves about the world are cultivated for a price. They adore authoritarian figures maintaining the illusion that all is right and well in their world. It's all under control, have no fear. Don't lift a finger, I've got it. Beck has all the ready made answers for you, no need to think for yourselves. Just move along, go to your job, keep the wheels moving. That's your duty.
And it actually is our duty to contribute to the greater good in our given capacity. But here's another duty we have co-opted by tabloids selling false reality. The duty to educate ourselves about what it is going on around us in the name of our government because it does in fact represent us. This includes dems and repubs. This includes all levels of governance. This includes commerce doing odd things in the hallowed halls of governance that have nothing to do with the will of We the People, but everything to do with the service to themselves.
Our checks and balances have been breached. America is ill. We need to fix this and stop expecting that Obama can fix all things wrong. He is not, nor could he ever be, a savior. And neither can any single individual you may mean to elect.
Anti Obama Callers, or Posts, or Threads, could be white men with southern drawls, white men with New york Accents, or White men with no accent. They could be of White Race, Black Race, Asian Race, Yes Hispanic Race, Italian Race, etc, what's your point!
This is coming down to race baiting, and i hate these sort of threads. What do you have against White men with Southern Drawls.
I know people of all color and races who are supporters of Obma, and i know even more friends and acquaintainces of all colors and races, and religions, who want to see Obama gone, has not one thing to do with the color, religion, or race of the person, and everything to do, with how one thinks in life, and what your own ideals are. You either are a supporter of a person, or a non supporter, and color religion, and accents should be left out of it!
Do not confuse racism for supremacists. Racism falls under a larger blanket of evil, and one that blacks have often mistaken as racism.
Obama is our President and as such is subject to criticism that should not be suppressed. Let them speak. But when every ounce of criticism has no bearing on reality, no connection to cause and effect, and when it editorializes a 20 page ad hominem attack, how can anyone take that seriously?
I have yet to see one iota of rational criticism directed at him dating back even before he took office. I saw people plotting for ways to impeach him before he ever sat in the chair. Would you characterize the conduct of these people as 'real americans'?

In Summary, again the point was about the callers on Colmes show. Of course I know that not all anti Obama supporters are men in the old confederate states....that being said, you need to face reality, if you're denying that most of his hate, comes from the South.
