Clue: Its not happening, it won't be happening and there is NO justification or legal authority for obama taking over the internet. The FCC was shot down months ago and yet they pretend like its perfectly legal what they're doing.
I know. This is the Obama dictatorship.

We need to fight this when the new congress is sworn in.

Genachowski, at the FCC meeting describe the FCC role as 'Cop on the beat', as part of his justification to control the Internet.

Anything involving government intervention inherently has to do with content and control, regardless of will.

Please demonstrate where this FCC regulation mentions content.

Again, the misinformed railing against the government without any idea what they are talking about... Carrying water for corporate interests without the slightest inkling that they are doing so-- and at their own peril.

I am filled with sadness for our nation. When people have become some partisan and willfully misinformed to rail against a regulation that insures freedom, we have really lost our ability to think critically.

Are you serious? That's exactly whats its about. Care to explain how its about about the FCC blocking sites and not about how ISPs will use QOS on your traffic?

1. Local (most powerful)
2. State
3. Federal (least powerful)

Now the order has been switched, and we suffer the consequences. The federal government is too powerfull, creating the FCC to bypass congress and take away congressional influence and power, thus taking away our influence and power.

Merry CHRISTmas and a blessed New Year!
You are correct, and federal revenue sharing is the poison in the system. It's like crack cocaine. Once the states get revenue sharing dollars, they are hooked and the feds are in complete control.

Our big bloated government will only get bigger. There are no forces at work to limit big government, so it will continue to grow in power and size until it implodes, or until "Atlas shrugs".

We have too many people who think big government is fine as long as it's not taking away something that's important to them. Then when their rights get restricted, it's too late to do anything about it.

The only entities advantaged by preventing net neutrality are corporate entities and interests. So yes, if you are against net neutrality you are carrying water for corporate interests.

I would think my "liberal" approach is quite a bit more nuanced than one that automatically casts any government regulation as bad, over reaching and power grabbing. As for myself-- and I don't claim to be a spokesman for all liberals-- I think through an issue and see the good and the bad. As far as net neutrality... no downside (unless you're a corporate apologist)

They are presidential appoiintments and they are confirmed by the Senate. I believe they serve six year terms where are desgined to overlap presidential terms.

When has government interference ever insured freedom?

Can you guarantee, absolutely, that this action by the FCC will NEVER result in content regulation? If not, then you can assume the worst, of which the government has proven itself capable.

Why? Why? Why? does the FCC need to regulate Internet use?
