If I was down to my last can of Dinty Moore Beef Stew, I would share it with my faithful companion of ten years. It's not like they give you more food stamps when you run out. You are allotted so much a month and that's it, until next month. Micromanaging how one spends their food stamps is just mean spirited vindictiveness that has no impact on the overall economy or state of the nation.

This is too funny.
Who has time to get what others are buying anyway and how they are paying for it?

I would share my last morsels with my canine and feline family but there is no way I would expect to feed them with food stamps.

I thought I heard something similar while watching an episode of "Animal Cops- Houston" that took place during Hurricane Rita.

I don't remember if it was the ASPCA or the Humane Society, but they had a shelter set up specifically for animals whose owners were evacuating, where the owners could leave their pets and then reclaim them when they were allowed back into their homes.

Could you imagine the issues bringing pets to a shelter set up for humans (like a school, etc) would cause?

Not all but some . If I thought it were all going to dogs and cats or bird and rats even , I would feel better about the whole program .
True. It would be a far better use of food stamps to feed their household pets than what so many use food stamps for. A very large number of food stamp recipients use marijuana, cocaine, meth, alcohol - it would be far better to find ways to stop food stamps from going for those purposes.
