Oh, excuse me. Since I don't like football, I am not entitled to an opinion and should not express same. (lets leave my feelings for my three dogs and three cats out of it)

Jeepers, you guys sure are lucky that I am here to help you out. I've read about the first twenty posts and I will now straighten some folks out if they had the wrong outlook...

First, people in dog fighting are perhaps not following the laws of this land, but they are not necessarily cruel sickos. There are places on the earth where various animals can legally fight each other for entertainment. There's dog fighting, **** fighting, and bull fighting. Some bull fighters have had hero status in the countries they live. And those countries are no more immoral than the USA. It has to do with the culture in which they were raised. And get this; your pal, Galileo Smith, eats chicken, pork, and steak. And I don't too much care if the chicken were "free range" or held in a cage. Why don't I care? Well, my particular culture (which is porbably your particular culture too) has looked at chickens as more of something to eat upon maturity rather than animals to befriend. I hope that doesn't upset the country's parakeet lovers.

As for Obama, well, he probably did not do himself any political favors with this Vick thing, but Presidents ought to sometimes go with their gut and not follow the popularity polls. As for Vick being black and that was the reason for Obama's call, well, that is unknown and purely guesswork. Right now Vick is considered the second choice to Tom Brady for the NFL's MVP award despite what has often been amazing quarterback play from Vick. So is Tom Brady the leading MVP candidate because he played a little better than Vick, or because he is white? Gosh, race-based guesswork can get kind of insidious, huh?

According to the federal indictment, when dogs at Vick’s Bad Newz Kennels lost a fight, or failed to perform well in ‘test matches,’ they were routinely killed by methods including electrocution, hanging, drowning, and in at least one case by “slamming” the dog’s body onto the concrete floor. In one session in April 2007, at least eight dogs were killed through these methods.

When Vick was in JAIL Brady was ... well , lets see.
He has played in four Super Bowls, winning three of them (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX). He has also won two Super Bowl MVP awards (XXXVI and XXXVIII), has been selected to six Pro Bowls (and invited to seven, although he declined the 2006 invitation), and holds the NFL record for most touchdown passes in a single regular season. Brady has the fifth-highest career passer rating of all time (95.0) among quarterbacks with at least 1,500 career passing attempts. He was named Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year in 2005. He also helped set the record for the longest consecutive win streak in NFL history with 21 straight wins over two seasons (2003–04).[1]
In 2004 and 2007, Brady was named "Sportsman of the Year" by The Sporting News.[2] He was also named the 2007 NFL MVP, as well as 2007 Male Athlete of the Year by the Associated Press, the first time an NFL player has been honored since Joe Montana won in 1990.[3]
WOW , for a white guy not bad.
GalileoSmith , I am tired of black on white racism.

Obama has called every convict that has been released and found a job. I'm sure it's not just the high profile, multi-million dollars sports super starts he calls. He's all for the little man who got released and went to work digging ditches, too..
A fair man, that Obama fellow. He'd be almost perfect if he wasn't a corrupt, socialist, incompetent, worthless piece of sludge.

The problem is men like this make it hard to think of black men in a good light . Now the worst President in history is black. Its the actions of the black men , not the money.
I thought Oprah would be the first black President , not this low IQ fraud.

He could be looking to sure up the black male vote he has all but lost by only helping union workers while the unemployment rate is 24% for black males in Chicago , and lets not go to Georgia , and so on ...

Oh ! I bet he can get Wesley Snipes a job with the IRS when he gets out heheheheh .

Excuse me but there are plenty of white men that had done bad things and since we have had worse Presidents in the past and they were all white does that make you think less of white men? Stop think in terms of the color of someones skin, it has Nothing to do with whether or not they are good or bad men.

I still eat beheaded, imprisoned chickens, and slaughtered cows. My culture says it's okay. And in Mexico stabbing bulls in a stadium is part of their culture, or is it a stadium full of wackos?

Well, I don't know what past seasons have to do with this season. Competely irrelevant. But I think you're saying that should Brady win the MVP over Vick, race will not be a part of it. That's how I figure it too. Brady's whiteness would have nothing to do with it. I also figure race was not a part of Obama's opinion on Vick. And that was my point.

I have such a disconnect to a person like Vick it is hard to express my feelings.

Those dogs would have licked his hands while he hurt them.

I can only hope some day he feels the same pain as the dogs.

Vick has had a great year. Lets be fair about it. He is the horse power in the Eagles O. Unfortunately for me because I don't like the Eagles. LOL
Obama called the man. Is it a crime? Last time I checked, no.
The dog thing. As a dog lover I am appalled by Vick and what he did. I often wonder what his chat with the prison shrink were about or the parole board.
Parole board:Mr. Vick why did you abuse all those dogs?
Mr. Vick: I couldn't help myself.
Parole Board: Why is that Mr. Vick?
Mr. Vick: Well as a child I was molested by dogs. Licking me, sniffing my private parts, a little dog once did the nasty to my leg and everything.
Parole board : They just stare at Mr. Vick
Mr. Vick: See this is what I am talking about, because of what dogs did to me I feel everyone stares at me.
How can we not have compassion for such a tortured soul?
