I think the switch-over has begun. Last year, I believe most people were pronouncing 2010 as "two thousand ten", but as this year begins, my sense is that most people are pronouncing 2011 as "twenty eleven" rather than "two thousand eleven".
Twenty-eleven. I also said "twenty-ten" but sometimes would get tongue-tied and say "two-thousand-ten". I think it sounds better to say "twenty" now that the latter is "eleven" and is three syllables. "Ten" is just one syllable so it didn't seem so long even when I would say "two thousand" instead of "twenty." I hope that makes sense.
I'm going with twenty eleven. While I understand two thousand one, five, nine etc. made sense, I really missed the old way we did years back in the 20th century. (nineteen eighty-seven anyone?).

I started saying "20-10" in 2010. I would say 2000-xx before that.
