First of all, no child and for that matter no ADULT taking any sort of medication should be carrying a gun. It turns out all the recent shootings including this weekend's were done by deranged kids/people on drugs.

Secondly STOP GIVING YOUR KIDS DRUGS. Ritalin and vaccinations all have worse side effects than benefits. Read up on it at WAVE - World Association for Vaccine Education

Thirdly all those in prison for any drug related violation should be released.

We should all be ASHAMED of the fact that this country has incarcerated 25% of the world's jailed population yet only 5% of the world's population live here.

This incident should in NO WAY be used as a justification to confiscate people's guns. Confiscating guns from responsible gun owners just makes it easier for crooks to kill more people! Just look at Mexico.

I dearly hope that one day, Americans will be able to see it that way but I have my doubts. There's just too many powerful interest groups in the US that will do everything they can to maintain the status quo...

really?

then that is why you are a police state and not a constitutional republic. that is also the reason we americans kicked you europeons out of the USA back in the late 1700's.

also, the cops, military and goverment would have to give up their firearms before the citizens could ever give up theirs.

It's not like the US is a third-world country with murderous groups of criminals roaming the streets. You don't need to defend yourself.

really? when seconds count, the cops are minutes away.

I am glad that most americans dont see it that way, that way we americans do not become like the rest of the world, ie. a bunch of nanny state do-gooders.

in fact, I really hope that politicians do not get involved anymore than they already are and keep their elitist noses out of the peoples rights, there is no need to do it for the children (because they are just lying) or because they think they know what is right for us, because they dont.

if politicians and goverment wanted to actually do something for the people, then they would give the people less goverment, less federal regulations, and get out of the peoples lives.

Spoken like a true socialist. I'd rather be free than cling to a false sense of security. Obviously, you prefer to hand over control of your life to others.

I hope Americans always remain free and fight against the Social ideologies that people like you put forward. When the "status quo" is the liberty to practice natural rights and the government is limited by the people instead of the people by the government, that is a status quo worth maintaining. A status quo without liberty, not so much.

People act like the country has 30,000 people. It has over 300 million and is in a perilous period. I'm surprised that more have not flipped out.

The real threats are:
heart disease
cancer
obesity
auto accidents
pneumonia/flu

I would also put in that list,

goverment too large, both federal and state.

The real threat is that which liberalism places on our Constitutional Republic be it at the national or international levels! Socialism needs to be stamped out with all the ferver of fighting an organic disease, IMO. Gun control will always be in the sights of leftist liberal because without vanquishing the freedom of the right to keep and bear arms, it is impossible to vanquish the other rights and control the people with a tyrannical government.

I find it strange that you have "lieknecht" as your forum name, as Karl Liebknecht was very in favor of communism and even did an uprising against the current goverment. one would think that having that name, you would be in favor of revolution and the breaking up of the USA and have seperate region states, than to have the USA follow along quietly behind the steps of the europeons.
