It's called having class. Of course McCain doesn't think that obama's doing a good job. But he knows better than to speak poorly of a sitting President.
Democrats could learn from him.
They could also learn from the Bush family.
Bravo! +1.
So true. Think about the former presidents who have criticized sitting presidents. I think of Jimmy Carter making a fool of himself.
Sen. John McCain lost a bitter campaign against Barack Obama in 2008 and has been at loggerheads with him for much of Obama's first two years in office. But the Arizona Republican this weekend called Obama a "patriot" intent on using his presidency to "advance our country's cause" and rejected accusations -- many coming from members of his own party and the tea party movement -- "that his policies and beliefs make him unworthy to lead America."
I didn't figure democrats to understand what class meant.
You've got that right!
As exemplified not only in the democratic leaders (term used loosely) and those that follow them here-the liberals. Class is oft times hard to be found.
You want class?
Just listen to left wing liberal talk radio. (if you can find it)
I cannot believe the vitriol that comes from the left. Vulgar language, crude insults....
One show even has "the cu** of the day!" which they proudly sing during their broadcast. Now that's classy!
I wonder why the national organization of liberal women have never said anything? I thought that word was something that you should never use?
I think liberal talk radio has now resorted to shock value because they can't seem to retain viewership any other way.
The liberals are funny that way in that they resent and want to censor conservative talk radio because they just don't have the interest to support their own.
How was that an insult? Insults are not allowed on the forum for good reason."I didn't figure democrats to understand what class meant."Seems clear to me.
My point was that republican ex-Presidents do not get involved in the politics of their successors. He isn't an ex-President.
Both living democrat Presidents have bashed their republican successors repeatedly, and continue to do so.Clinton did little bashing that I remember and he was an excellent President by all accounts. Obama has only pointed out the fact that he was left a MESS by the previous President when the right tries in vain to blame every problem we are dealing with today on him. Thing is the right side does not want to even admit there was a mess.
Like most people, you forgot about carter. not much to forget. worst President of my lifetime, other than LBJ and soon to be obama.
It's nice to see that McCain is still capable of lucid moments.
True, even though this was not one of them.
It's little wonder McCain was unable to generate much interest among conservatives.
