O's current bow was his effort in looking for a job. After his term in office, O will be looking for another community to organize. Perhaps he's looking for it now?
I guess we should be happy he hasn't prostrated himself to other world leaders - yet.
Heavens! None here realized thatd YOU are the expert on all activities of the governments of the world. And to be 100% certain of the actions of others, are you truly this omnipotent?
Hm, perhaps I was too subtle for you to understand?
I made no such claims but simply expressed (sarcastically) that everyone on this board seems to be an expert; and that contributers to this thread conveniently hold on to the belief that interactions with foreign dignitaries are haphazard and under the complete discretion of the participants (in this case, Obama).
None here seem to realize or marginally acknowledge the amount of work and research that goes into creating a proper protocol for such events.
Well SloRoller, If bowing to everyone is the custom in China WHY is he the only one bowing? If it is a simple gesture of respect why did the leader of China ignore his own country's customs? Where was his bow to hussein obama? Did he intentionally disrespect hussein obama in front of the world?
The sheep never see the obvious
In case you didn't know it, bowing is not an American custom. President Obama is the HOST. In this country it is CUSTOMARY for the HOST to extend courtesies to the VISITOR. It's called being a GRACIUOS HOST. You apparently know nothing about graciousness. The president's name is Barack Heussein Obama. Did you refer to the previous president as walker bush?
And since the sheep never see the obvious, why don't you EXPLAIN exactly what it is about bowing to a visiting guest (my folks referred to it as showing some home training) that shows deference or weakness.
Who's the sheep here? You jump on the "weakness" bandwagon without even having an understanding of the action the president took.

So.... we have a video of China's president bowing to 0bama when he visited him in China?
The photo you think is photoshopped is part of a series of photos that were taken as the two men neared one another, leaned in and kissed. The one you're referring to is also linked on that page, which you will find if you click through the smaller pictures to bring each one to the fore. Showing you the several shots, some from a wider angle, is intended to show you that the encounter was real. There was no photoshopping.
Give it up she sees only what she wants to see, if it disagrees with her POV it does not exist. That is why she has so many here on ignore, if she does not see or hear it ...... well you get it.

bowing is common over there and it is a sign of respect.
thats what I dislike most about americans. completely ignorant to the rest of the worlds cultures and customs.
Hu is Chinese.
While mainland Chinese customs still dictate bowing for certain situations (funerals, apologies, weddings, etc.) it isn't a common formal greeting like in Japan.

...and once again, if 0bama is going to bow, then the proper protocol and execution for the act of greeting a person with a bow, does not involve holding the person's hand while bowing. Well, not unless you are bowing in the subservient act of kissing their ring.
