If the school that refused Jared Loughner re-admission had the resources to have him seek psychiatric or medical attention, this horrific tragedy could have been avoided.

Or if there were more medical background screening, there could have been preventative measures taken that would have prevented Jared Loughner from buying a gun and purchasing ammunition at a local Wal-Mart.

Swing and a miss

They should have called the Sheriff !

Here is how the system should work in Arizona

"Fuller was taken into custody by Pima County sheriff's deputies and involuntarily committed for 72 hours of psychiatric evaluation."

Uh huh
Your premise relies on the crazies acknowledging/recognizing they are crazy and seeking help.
Oh and then accepting the help and taking their meds as directed, never skipping.

Now everyone who is crazy raise their right hand

We will never know, but it might well have been so.

No, if the dick wad of a police chief had flagged his records, no one could have sold the leftist killer the gun.

National health care would double our cost to start with. It fines those who don't have it $5000, and if they intent to cut service to Medicare (killing lots of seniors) then what makes anyone think this pipe dream for Loughner would happen?
As it is the jerk police chief had reports of this guy giving death threats to other people and still did nothing.
Want fault, look to the police chief that was all over the news blaming others.

I'm all for the Universal Health Care, but this is nothing more than pure speculation. Even with the best resources available, there will always be some people who fall through the cracks. We can't know what may or may not have happened with Universal Health Care.

That universal health care will cost you 40-60% tax rates on your paycheck (if you work), because the government is the worst waste of money, which is why we are so in debt. Then so many will not work to live on the dole and to get the free bad health care IMO.

My cousin moved to Canada and said their health care taps their salaries in a big way and is poor health care.

I could trade anecdotes with you all day. My husband is from Denmark where they have Socialized Medicine and everyone loves it. Absolutely loves it.

But then, that would be a hijack of this thread, which is about whether such a system would or could have prevented the tragic shooting on January 8th. I believe we both agree that it may very well not have. So instead of finding something to be disagreeable about, why not just enjoy the fact that we've found something we share an opinion on? Does it always have to be so contentious?

Same EXACT posting that you put up on 1/12/11 in a thread that was closed.

Why the repeating of EXACTLY word for word the same post?

OCD or Alzheimer's?
