The "Drug War" is a lost cause and everyone knows that it is. Now comes a new war that will make millions of ordinary people criminals.
From the story......
"The battle over cigarettes is heating up -- and the momentum to criminalize tobacco smoking continues to build in the United States and around the world. "
I am not a smoker and I am not even tolerant of being in smokey air however I don't think smoking should be made illegal. Its a person's choice if they want to smoke, as long as it doesn't impact me, why should I care.
I think the new alternative, the ones that have the mist instead of smoke and don't have the tar or other chemicals. You can choose the mg strength of the nicotine if you want are a great alternative. They aren't barred either, you can use them in places where cigarettes are barred.

Not a chance. Big tobacco has the republicans paid off, but it likely will be taxed to hell and back over and over, likely see 15-$20 a pack in the future.
Will cigarettes be made illegal anytime soon? No way.
Some states still have tobacco production as one of their top industries, and the tax revenue generated by tobacco is obscene.
Not to mention the black market that would be the obvious outcome of such legislative action. Remember what happened during prohibition?
They may be priced out of reach for most at some point, but tobacco won't be banned outright anytime in the near future.
