I've always wondered why Google hasn't gotten into the broadcast/ISP business. They do have Google TV, but how come the most poised company to take on Comcast in providing the Internet backbone including streaming TV shows is idle on this?

They'd make a killing

You want to send them the message...boycott Comcast. Stop using their cable or internet. If only 10% did that, they would have him back on TV very quickly. I don't use Comcast, but they do own the golfchannel, which I used to watch. No more. Just my symbolic gesture.
I don't care about Keith Olbermann, Rush Limbaugh, Rachel Maddow, or any other talking head on TV. Hell even the few I watch, if they lost their show I wouldn't be upset by that.

Someone else will simply fill in the gap, hopefully someone who wasn't just a sports caster.

Glenn Beck, Keith Olbermann were simply opposite sides of the same coin. Former sportscasters who turned into political talking heads. Neither one of them knows anything about politics, and both made wild assumptions about minor details.

I called the cable company about getting cable for my office and they quoted me a higher cost than they were quoting me for my home for less content. Salesperson was at least honest about it. SHe said that they charged more because the business have fewer options because you can't slap a dish on the side of a lot of buildings. Needless to say I don't have cable at work, but I get the same thing through the internet. Actually it works better.

Comcast knows this. That is why they are trying buy up all of the content. I have less of a problem with this than I do about buying content for political reasons.

Comcast bought out NBC?

Does that mean, (And we can all but hope), that we will start getting the real news instead of some liberal leaning leftist views? Gawd I hope so..

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Olby!

Your'e personal biases don't mean s..t. In the media the name of the game is ratings. High you stay. Low you go. Kieth O couldn't get high enough ratings to justify keeping him.

I wouldn't be surprissed to see Mathews next on the chopping block.

If it is all about the money, you don't pay someone 7 million to not do a show and you don't get rid of the most watched personality. No problem doing it at the end of his contract if his show does meet the financial expectations, but no coincidence that this happened with the Comcast takeover.

Duh! That is what the thread is about. It is because Kieth O is gone.
