here in idaho it's been -30 degrees for the past week.. and where I use to live in australia has been flooded with rain for 3 months straight, and now a category 5 cyclone
NASA’s announcement this year – that 2010 ties 2005 as the warmest year in the 131-year instrumental record – made headlines. But, how much does the ranking of a single year matter?
Not all that much, emphasizes James Hansen, the director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York City. In the GISS analysis, for example, 2010 differed from 2005 by less than 0.01°C (0.018 °F), a difference so small that the temperatures of these two years are indistinguishable, given the uncertainty of the calculation.
FYI Hansen heads GISS and was arrested at a protest and compared coal trains to death trains. His bias is very clear.

Unprecedented though? For example there was recent article suggesting California is due to get hit by massive rains and they know this because of historical data that shows it happened many times in the past, something like every 200 to 300 years... regardless of the historical occurrences if it does happen you can pretty much bet the global warming alarmist will be going "See we told you so..."
The reason being inside a closed area where you might have something like a car running is bad is because it produces carbon monoxide, the reason this is so deadly in large doses is it bonds to the hemoglobin in your blood and it can no longer transport oxygen.
I'll reiterate, car exhaust is not good for humans. Why shouldn't we push for more efficient standars?? Because it might cut into the auto exec's bonuses?

Frankly I don't believe there is a link between outdoor pollution and asthma, since the 80's as an aggregate the six most common air pollutants have been halved according to the EPA.
The fact is the air we breathe is much cleaner than it was 30 years ago. If you consider within this same time frame asthma cases have increased soamething isn't adding up. Personally I would attribute it two things.
Firstly you have more diagnoses. The second reason is two parts, within this same time period there is a lot of insulation, house wrap and other things going into houses that prevent them from breathing like they used too. It's a consequence of higher efficiency homes. You''re trapping a lot of pollutants indoors. This problem is exacerbated by the fact kids spend so much time indoors compared to what they used too. Just my .02 on the asthma issue.
No.but if it did it certainly would be global warming. I think its just cycle of has happened before.
