But just in case that office is the problem, I would send a copy of it and the death certificate to the Attorney General's office in your state. If the Attorney General gets more than one of these from that office, it would certainly be something to investigate. Fraud of any kind is a job for the Attorney General of your state.

The Attorney General will probably not get involved until you have contacted the local Board of Elections. Make copies and make sure the Attorney General knows about this though. That will be the end of your responsibility.

Responsible people like you have kept crooks from getting away with fraud many times. Keep up the good work.

If you think the clerks office was trying to commit voter fraud internally, they would have been smart enough to forge the signature on the voter registration so a letter wouldn't have been triggered to the home. I'm betting this is a mix up or at worst identity theft, but it never hurts to cover all your bases.
