Oh, that's right! I guess if he had gone to the Villages that would have been far too obvious. LOL Indeed, it makes sense now for him to go to Eustis so he could draw the Village tea party Sarah Palin supporters.
I so wish that this guy would get impeached! And the sooner the better. Or maybe a recall.

If being shifty and double dealing were criminal acts, we might have a chance. Until then, he remains the governor.
Quote:
The Constitution of Florida provides for impeachment and removal from office for officials who have committed misdemeanors or worse crimes. Impeachment must involve a violation of law that is considered a criminal offense and, as such, impeachment results in a criminal record for the removed official. Those subject to impeachment include the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of agriculture, and all justices.

It isn't the gov't's job to create jobs just for the sake of creating jobs. The steps Florida is taking will ensure Florida's long term financial/economic viability and promote private sector growth.
Unfortunately, what Scott ran on, among other things, is the creation of jobs.
His own party members are not happy with his budget.
I don't blame them.
BTW, on the slashing of property taxes at the state level: that usually results in the raising of same in the Local and County levels.
It did when Crist did it, it will happen again when Scott does it. Net profit for the property owner....nada.

It will prove to be interesting. I'd like to see the numbers on the number of legal residents in FL who are on the Medicaid roles. From personal observation of multi-generational native Flroidians I suspect dependency upon Medicaid it is quite high compared to other states.
It will be an interesting experiment on how Floridians react to "austerity measures".
The largest element in FL and other states Medicaid spending is Nursing Home Care. This is something Medicare dosn't pay for and in most states you need to be striped of significant assets to qualify for Medicaid. So this is the fate most of us will enjoy siting in an inadeqate nursing home and in many cases in our own crap. People the money runs out and soon you just can't live independently. -
Article on the front page news today about how many non-instructional jobs are going to be lost with these budget cuts. At one elementary school one nurse is also responsible for transporting kids to and from the bus, monitoring a section of the cafeteria and cleaning that section once lunch is over, as well as answering the phones at the front office and a bunch of other small duties.
They're hiring teachers to make sure they abide by the class size rules but are cutting all support staff. And this whole voucher to go to school where ever you want thing is a little odd. Education in Florida is going to get very ugly very soon
