Did the cold freeze your eyeballs?
I'm not the OP, and until you hijacked this thread, we were speaking of the problems that Florida is facing.
Seriously , my dear you must understand that Florida while precious to you is not unique. What you are experiencing there is what we experienced here. The approach your Governor is taking is similar to that which our Governor took. It was successful here and likely to be effective there. See, its not that hard!

Um, no, not really.
Demographically speaking, Florida and Jersey are nothing alike, and if you take a good hard look at what Scott is proposing, you would understand that.
But, I dont expect you will study up on Floridas issues, as all you are here to do is bait me.

Florida is not Jersey south, as much as the expatriates of Jersey would like to think.

Fiscal discipline is fiscal discipline. Demographics are irrelevent. It's money that matters.
I think you obsession with me is a little unhealthy.

You addressed me first, I had already posted in this thread.
Its a little sophomoric that you have such an obvious need for attention, and the last word.
Not to mention such an obvious attempt to "put me in my place", as you have tried to do here.
I havent had anyone treat me this way since the 3rd grade.
Feel free to leave this thread at anytime.

What Gov. Medicare fraud is doing is not fiscal discipline. On top of that a major difference exists between the quality of education, quality of the schools and $$$ spent on schools between NJ & Florida. NJ made some cuts, whether those cuts were wise ca be up for debate, but NJ has spent quite a bit on schools. Florida on the other hand is bottom of the barrel as far as schools go. Scott is cutting from the bread crumbs and scraps that makes up the FL education budget.

Unfortunately money doesn't equal quality education. It would be nice if we could just throw money at education it would fix it. We learned that the hard way in NJ. We spend upwards of $23k per pupil in some municipalities in NJ with really poor outcomes. It isn't how much money you spend but how you spend what you have.
And it turns out Florida is a great example of that.
"In three years, Florida has climbed from No. 31 to No. 14 to No. 10.
"It's extraordinary news," Florida Education Commissioner Eric J. Smith said. "This is a very credible evaluation of state performance against other states."
Education Week's conclusion comes despite the fact that Florida has one of the worst graduation rates in the country and among the lowest rates of per-pupil funding. It also clangs off a perception, ingrained in the collective psyche of Floridians, that their schools are lame"
I don't see how gutting the state and public programs while simultaneously cutting taxes=making things right.
Things are so bad that everything has to be cut across the board. Look at the most miserable cities in America. Most are in FL and CA. Bad news bears. You have to start somewhere. First start, removed the dems in office, second stop the rediculous spending. They have enough of our money, now they should dpend it wisely. No more excuses.

So cutting Medicare and school funding is the right thing to do?
Somehow, I dont think so.
