well, we agree on this aspect ( altho i wouldn't refer to it as a "war"). if we want to stop the vast majority of illegal immigration we could by simply enforcing the laws against employers that already exists. take away the incentive and you've removed a major part of the problem. unfortunetly our desire for cheap labor has kept us from doing that.

but....... there are tons of threads dedicated to illegal immigration on this site. if we could i'd like to specifically focus on the mexican military's invasion.

Your ability to read minds through a blurry photo on the Internet is really, really, really impressive.

Will you read my palm too?
You should watch the video.

Mexico Military Invasion Bravely Repulsed, We Guess - Houston News - Hair Balls
It was a terrifying scene that could have been taken right from the chilling documentary Red Dawn. The invading horde claimed yards and yards of American soil for their power-hungry leaders...until they saw the customs booth. At which point they did a quick U-turn and slunk back home. If those brave men and women staffing that booth don't get a Congressional Medal of Honor, there is no justice in this world. We can only assume the Pentagon has gone to at least DEFCON 2, but with that traitorous Muslim in the White House, who knows? Like we say, it's probably better to just arm yourselves

They acknowledged it. Obama redeployed a few border agents from the southern border to the northern border.

I guess he thinks Canada is a bigger threat to national security ?
And Janet is busy looking for illegal tshirts shipped to the US.

With all of the attention on the southern border, turns out the northern one is quite porous:

Huge, porous Canadian border offers easy access to U.S. for drug smugglers

GAO: Northern border remains too porous (2/1/11) -- GovExec.com

My favorite:

"Everyone already knew that security along the Canadian border was lacking, but a new government audit has now clarified just how abysmal it really is. "Only 32 miles of the nearly 4,000-mile U.S.-Canadian border have 'an acceptable level of security," the Buffalo News reports."

The U.S.-Canadian Border Is Now .08 Percent Secure! -- Daily Intel

In any event, getting back to the invasion, I saw this on the news this morning. Everyone was quite amused.
I don't think it was a concerted effort, although, given the troubles, maybe they were thinking about defecting but changed their minds at the last minute.

It seems as if your side of the aisle finds it wrong if someone encroaches on the US, yet doesn't complain when the US is in central Mexico.

Which is it?
Are you suggesting that the ICE agents were in Mexico without the permission/invite of the Mexican government? If so, please post your links.

it would be nice if history books recorded "the great U-turn invasion of 2011".

More important people on both sides of the border are getting wealthy on the drug trade than are dying of it. So long as there is big money to be made the situation will be protected by both sides.

Just like alcohol prohibition there was only one Elliot Ness but there were thousands making money in the middle of a economic collapse.
